Hey,

For anyone interested. I've just uploaded my trip from the Canaries to St Lucia with the ARC. We took 25 days to get across, and were the last over the line with just an hour to spare before prize giving. It's not a ground breaking trip I know :D

I took the vid using a simple handheld camera, and took the underwater footage with the GoPro 2 attached to a boat hook. The quality isn't as good, but I think that may be down to youtube.

It's quite a long video but its hard to squeeze 25 days under 10 mins.

Cheers

Hi Tim,

I enjoyed that - really well put together! A great memento for all the crew (except perhaps Molly).

All the best,

Pete

Halycon - Cheers, yeh poor Molly aroused the suspicious sailor in our skipper when we had a series of bad luck...
Affinite - Ah yeh? cool, so you saw we took a very southerly route to avoid the terrible weather further north. I definitely want to have a go on my own boat in a couple of years time :)

That's because it has copyrighted music so won't play on mobile devices as they don't support ads.

Timmy - Great video, encourages us to give it a try next year. We're not much bigger than you so would also be a slow'un.

oh I see, I should probably have known that being a techy lol

I really encourage you to do so it was a great trip.

The boats my friends, but I have a Halmatic 30 and will do it on my boat in a year or two. A Norwegian boat (they're at the very beginning in the Hanse) of the same size did it a lot quicker than we did
so you may not be slow'un :D

Oh, our Tinkerbell is a fat Southerly, I don't think she's ever been described as quick! (Though amazingly a previous owner did used to race her??)

Ads in videos show as normal on the pad. This one says something like "the author has not permitted use on mobile devices"

I've just had a quick read up. There's a setting saying the following that is not editable

Syndication
No, this video should not be available on mobile phones and TV.

I'm guessing there's a copyright clause related to the tunes I'm using that specifies that they don't wish to have their tunes available on mobile devices. I've never had this problem before. But as this is something for me to look back on and share with anyone that's interested, I'm not going to change the tunes I'm afraid.

ah I see, well its the journey that counts, not how quick you get there :) Sailing for 25 days beats sitting at a desk so I couldn't have been happier (until we ran out of cava of course)
