As per title, what speed for cruise and top end would one expect from twin 225hp diesels in an Aquastar 33? What would the fuel consumption be approximately at those speeds?

I believe that’s a semi displacement boat ?
A friend has a 38ft Broom with twin 250Hp and that goes okay = 23 knots – so I would say a 33 of a similar design philosophy with twin 225’s would be similar.
No idea what the fuel consumption would be but liable to be fairly high unless you are happy to go slow.

I had the same boat for 7 years, but with two Cummins B series (turbo) lumps which were rated for 210hp per side.
I might have seen 20knots once...downhill. More like 16 knots cruise on a good day.
Overall fuel consumption was approx. 0.9NM/gallon with typical usage being 20% displacement and 80% above.

I had a Halmatic 34 with pair of Sabre 265 about 7500 kg, it was overpowered and would top out at 25 knots but cruise all day 21 knots.

Thanks for the info - I'll assume 15kts cruise. and 1mpg for my calculations! Just weighing up the pros/cons of some older boats .....

My Corvette is 32' with the Cummins 210s, and presently with clean hull she pulled 18.7 knots at WOT and 2700 RPM. If I reduce to ~2400 she will cruise happily all day ~ 14-15 knots and I expect about 1.5 MPG.
If I put her bum in the water at a sedate 8 knots at ~ 1600 RPM the tanks hardly seem to move and I reckon I am getting above 3MPG, increasing to near 4 or even 5 at 6 knots river speed and 1,100 RPM.
If the props become fouled with barnacles forget all the above. Before she cam e out a few weeks ago I could not get her above 10.5 knots / 2100 RPM wallow.
I would expect the Aquastar would be broadly similar.
