Recently I bought an Aqua4gen, new and unused on eBay. It is just what I need as a charging source for long distance cruising.

It came with a regulator with three red wires coming out of a box that is potted and has a huge heat sink on it.

I can't find any ref to a regulator such as this in any literature.

Can anyone help?

The generator has an unregulated output and can be connected direct to the battery bank but I would rather add a regulator to avoid overcharging.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Tony.

No doubt the same regulator as the Aero4gen, see this manual, page 16 - http://www.bluemoment.com/manuals/aero4gen_manual.pdf

Yes, I found that one.

My box has three wires coming out, all red.

There are two from one end with blade connectors and one from the other, bare.

I wonder if I should just buy a windgen regulator from such as Rutland?

I have basic test gear, multimeters, ammeter, power supply etc but don't know where to start with the box I have!

Thanks

Tony.
