1) Anyone know where I can buy a replacement lens unit for a tri plus anchor light aqua signal mast-top light. The RGW lenses are fine, but the white anchor light lens is badly crazed.
2) I think it must be a series 40, although the numbers imprinted on the lens cover start with S41 - was there a series 41 tri/anchor light? Not sure of the age of the light fitting but it could be as old as the boat (1978).

You will find that although spares are technically available, they are not held in stock by the distributor(s). Consequently, they will charge any retailer a special order fee which makes the spare lens as expensive as a complete replacement light.

I hope I'm wrong!

Edit. Aquasignal don't list a series 41 tricolour but other lights were available in the 41 series. You can view spare parts for the series 40 here .

I tried several places a few years ago for a replacement Aqua Signal lens. Eventually gave up on the idea of a replacement lens as the cost was nearly as much as a complete unit.

Sigh! They always get you by the short and curlies! I bet their share price went up after the Ouzo report.

Thanks very much for the info.

[/ QUOTE ] Why bother replacing it if it is only the anchor llight lens you are worried about? It is a bit hit or miss if other vessels notice masthead lights anyway, and do you really do a lot of anchoring in areas where you might be run down by vessels who don't see you?

That is my thinking at present. It's just that my mast is down at the moment so was thinking of all the things I could do. Given the cost, I may decide to live with it as it is.

Thanks
