Re: AQA 35 boat - Does anybody know them?

The Aqa 35 is a re-invented Tornado 38 which was a near to copy paste of a Magnum 35/38.

The hull is very Magnum with a similar 24 degree dead-rise aft, so these are seaworthy boats, mostly used as a day-boats to go from the Lazio harbours to Ponza and the Pontine islands.
Construction is good and it is done by x-workers of Tornado and Mig, both located in Rome.

Very nice indeed .

Maurizino does excellent reviews
How to do an outdrive , a deep V ,and play to Italian bureaucrats all in one sexy package .

Only critique - I think the low wind shield—- does not err , shield the wind .That would be tiresome and women s hair do,s will suffer .Any sun hats blow off etc

Newer 2018 version has a bit of higher windshield. But yes spot I think they would have looked cooler with higher windshield.

If you want a higher windshield and stern drive package I would look at the Italcraft Sarima. Medium flat Vee but it is a military used hull first before it was converted in a production boat.

Yes another nice boat for the Op .

Thing is - at that age and price point he will be into Itama 38 territory if it’s wave crushing he,s after ?
Bigger fuel bill but flatter ride - trim wise due to mid engine .

The Italcraft looking at this add , has gone down the fine entry route for seakeeping to kinda offeset the flatter mid V aft section- needs that for lift as sterndrive rear weight bias .

I like the ER pics here
Access - to the trim pumps
Also note the carefully instal of the geny
Sight glasses on the tanks

Also no carpets - nice wood floor .

Edit seems they do a shaft with CATs —- deadrise a bit low ? - but as said kinda ok with a fine entry .

They did offer them in Shafts and surface drives (S version only one or two made one of which competed in the P1 Endurance Super Sport (Production Class) back in 2009).
It did arrive third in one very rough sea race in fact, and was the only cruiser of the bunch, rest was very powerboat USA style Donzi, Sunseeker XS2000, a very good Maltese build Chaudron etc etc.
