Hi - a question i have. I have an AQ225 and have already replaced the impeller. However i believe along with this sea water pump there is a circulation pump - does this have an impeller and should it also be replaced regularly ?

exploded view:

I believe this is the part:
Amazon.com: Volvo Penta New OEM Circulation Water Pump Assembly 3853850 V8 5.0L 5.7L: Automotive

however i can not locate any serviceable parts for this pump. Any help is much appreciated !

It has a circulation pump like a car engine. Should never need to be replaced regularly - with luck, seldom. Noise, play and or leaking are symptoms of replacement needed.

Many thanks for your reply ! Couldn't find any info on it, never looked at engines before i purchased this boat!

Circulation pumps are for the freshwater (+anti-freeze/corrosion inhibitors) coolant, so don't need to cope with the grit, weed and small creatures that are in seawater. Hence the impellers don't suffer anything like the same wear or need to be flexible, and are not service items. More likely a bearing or seal in a circulation will fail than the impeller.
