What is the plug colours like when you take them out? Nice and even.
Possible air leak on inlet manifold, I assume you changed points and condensor, check flyleads are OK on both.
Compression test & also does it use coolant, could be head gasket cos I've seen this with that. Does it start OK? Final thought try disconnecting the rev counter!

Have you tested the timing? Does the mis-fire go away at higher revs? Can you isolate a particular cylinder by pulling off the HT lead whilst it is mis-firing and seeing if it gets any worse (mind the pinkies on this one)? Have you tested dwell angle, or at least checked the points gap? BTW, you don't mention new points and condensor in your list - any reason why not?

no points or condenser as converted to electronic ignition ***********
however problem has been resolved, a judicious application of WD 40 to the automatic advance and retard mechanism and voila!!!!!!!!

now all i need to do is sort out vibration in the leg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! suspect prop on this one though hopefully!!!

thanks for your reply
