I put the legs on and dried out on a sandbank yesterday so that I could scrub the bottom. Whilst I was waiting for the tide to come back in I went for a stroll across the sand and found a near perfect old clay pipe lying on the surface.

Interesting to think that it would have been thrown over board and swilling up and down the estuary for maybe 100 years or more.

Well, I thought it was interesting /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I thought it was interesting too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Except SWMBO thinks I'm spending too much time on here now...

did mine this week on a muddy bit of beach. All I found was a saucepan lid and a dead conger.

If you decide to beach the boat on one of the sandbanks in the Bristol Channel it pays to phone the coastguard beforehand.Inevitably some well meaning person ashore with binoculars will report you as being in distress /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In that case I'll throw it back in the water next weekend. You can go and find it for yourself! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
