April MBM..."Lotus Balls Up"...Have your Say ?

Re:nostalgic section

On average we run around 90 pages in the mag each month, in the april issue you've been talking about, we had a 6 page Marketplace section, with feature on a used Aqua-Star 38. A 4 page feature on a freeman 22 rebuild. Even a four page owners report on a not so old 6 year old Prestige 34. We'd love to run more pages on a nostalgic section but its very hard to keep everyone happy all of the time. We try and provide interesting features across a wide choice of areas including: Boat tests, News, Buyers' Guide, Cruising, DIY/ Boat Maintenance, Gear, Training, Q&A, Owners reports, Insider's guides. If we drastically increased the amount of coverage we gave to older boats, we'd upset a whole new load of readers.
If there's ever a particular used boat you'd like us to feature that we haven't covered recently, or just have something to say, why not drop Carl a letter. We are in the business of trying to keep you guys happy after all

I think the magazine is spot on.

It is a bit like Top Gear mag etc. because we all like to dream of boats we may get one day, if we just get that big promotion or win the lottery.

Keep it up! :)

Absolutely! I don't want to read about the sort of **** that I can afford! :D

Keep the superboats coming, that's the interesting stuff, not mouldy old Freemans or whatever.

I enjoy the "older boat" stuff. Sea or river boat - makes no odds.

Also the secret broker is v good, very ken on the reader's boat bit - some of the depeciation is quite shocking though.

Worst bit? Tests on boats I can't afford - Best bit? Seeing how much fuel they use! Makes me appreciate mine a whole lot more!

Agree entirely about the secret broker column, always well written and interesting, one of the first bits I look at when it drops through the door.

A prime example of "TopGearitus".... a dream boat......adj. a 30ft soapdish with something from a branch of "Millets" velcroed on top only useable on that mild day in mid August.:) :):)

I blame 'Miami Vice' OG, since the heady 1980's days of the deep tan and the white suit, boating has never been the same...

Do you think Don Johnson has a lot to answer for? :)
