Can anyone tell me how to update the time and date on this thing. The instruction manual is in Dutch! I've pressed a few buttons but to no avail, but if one of you have one perhaps it is an easy fix? I would have thought it would do it automatically from the satellites, but obviously not...

Bit Vague......??????????????????

If the MK 4..... Square model then sell it on Ebay to an unsuspecting buyer as only thing it does now is to make a darn good hi visibility
Volt meter since the Decca system closed down.

If it is a Mk 8 or similar GPS ( Rectangular one) then just switch it on and leave it for a while and if it is a happy bunny it will download data from a Bird in the Sky
and then display all sorts of info including time date etc.

This might help.

These are good units and were later sold under the Leica name.

The Mark 4 could be updated to GPS with a kit by Leica ( yes the camera people ! ) - and works very well, I sold mine to my neighbour.

I don't know if such adaptations are still available, worth googling Philips or Leica, Decca AP4.

The place at East Cowes Marina used to specialise in these changeover kits, no idea if they still do.

As for the time / date, if that's gone I imagine it's the internal battery; should be an easy fix but only worthwhile if adapted to GPS.

Did you leave it on overnight? Can take time to get the almanac. If that doesn t work perhaps someone
knows if a Millenium fix was issued.

Have you ever seen the correct date?. Did this happen since changing the back up battery?
