I'm amazed at the growth on 'Aileen's' bottom after just 7 weeks afloat.

As she's a cat, we don't really need to have a lift out.

Does anyone know of anywhere, say Crouch to Harwich, where it's clean to dry out and there's a pressure washer to hand?

(We used to do this regularly down at Queen Anne's in Plymouth, but somewhere on the door step would be handy).

Pin Mill on the Orwell ? Not sure about a pressure washer though, perhaps a call to Gus at Kings boatyard 01473 780 258

Scrubbing posts and hard standing at Tollesbury but not sure it's wide enough to take a catamaran..??? What beam are we talking about here? I can check if that would work tomorrow.

Would have thought either Brightlingsea or West Mersea would be best for a cat, just drive up onto the shore and float off again later.

Mersea Stone ( East Mersea),why pressure wash, whats wrong with a good old fashioned scrubber

Yes, there's more than one way to clean a cat.

I've done it many times the 'old fashioned' way, but a pressure washer is ten times quicker, more effective, easier on my back and, at the moment, much, much easier on my broken clavicle.

Tollesbury not wide enough. My 12ft beam was leaving about 2ft of concrete ledge to stand on while using the pressure washer. Outside of that is primordial ooze of unknown depth. It nearly ate one of my wellies.

Brightlingsea for you Sir!

Yes that was my thought too - never seen a cat on there and never ever seen anything re-emerge that slipped into the ooze

Tollesbury can take 12ft max on the scrubbing posts but their launching slip is 25ft wide and a nice shallow angle. I spoke to Julian about this this morning and he mentioned he'd spoken to a cat owner about this so I guess that was you :)

Brightlingsea will be fine, plenty of space there for sure.
