well here in the USA our government has stopped broadcasting loran-C and expects us to rely solely on GPS (what a mistake...) or trad nav methods (not a mistake...) so i have 2 perfectly functional Loran-C receivers, taken off my boats . can anyone in any eu countries use these? I'll donate them , just pay shipping .. i loved these loran units, for our old charts were overprainted with the loran coords.. making it so mindlessly easy to see where you actually were..

check out http://www.loran-europe.eu/news.php as it appears to me that FR UK and Norway still use loran - C...

my models are Micrologic Voyager . there is a Voyager manual p. 9-5 that states that one can change 'to another station chain.. ' in a different geographic location. Since i operate only on the great lakes, i have never tried to change the station chain to for example southeastern florida USA. can someone who knows about these micrologic units let us know if the station chain can be changed to UK or FR?

NB also that the US boat electrical systems are 12v negative ground..
