No it won’t.

The VAT is only chargeable on the premium.

OK so it's £52K still way more than it was bought for in Spain in 2017 with 3 years of neglect and a strip search by a rummage team it's going to be an expensive boat when the minimum maintenance is done.

Edit and the boat wasn't VAT paid so you are going to have to pay VAT on the purchase price

Do you have any concrete evidence that it will be a problem? Or is it just an old wives' tale? How would anybody know its history unless they had inside knowledge. It won't have a big sign on it saying "This was a drug runners boat" - it will be just another Beneteau 50 like dozens of others.

There are many reasons to run a mile from this “bargain”. This one seems quite far down the list. :D

Agree. I saw the boat when I was buying my current boat that was in the same yard. Just amazed at the size of the bids. Top whack for one without the drug running history is maybe £90k and there is at least £50k of work and a lot of unknowns.
