Oops! I've been misinformed. Damn, I've paid money :ambivalence:I use the free Android version and it's just as good at displaying AIS data as the paid for version.Richard

If so, please can you supply, or at least point me towards, a 'For Dummies' guide on how it's done lol. I've just spent (read wasted) another several hours, and not for the first time lol, trawling the Internet trying to work this out. Even on the official OCPN forum, the thread on this subject is over 10 years old, which I seriously doubt has upto date infoLike many such places, as does the online manual, it also assume's one is bl00dy rocket scientist to begin with
Try to bear with me when it comes to learning new tech stuff. Apart from age lol, I also have a cognitive medical condition that makes any new learning difficult
Can sometimes make for interesting chart work too

So many ways of doing the same thing.
Has anyone any experience of this dual channel receiver by Quark

Well worth the few quid, free version is ancient, unsupported and won't get any updates. More plugins being ported across at the moment tonthe real version.Oops! I've been misinformed. Damn, I've paid money :ambivalence:
... and I think perhaps the most significant difference is that low cost oeSenc vector charts will work with the supported version. The free version is a snapshot of the Android development as it was about four years ago. Lots of improvements since in the supported version which I beleive is still under 10$Well worth the few quid, free version is ancient, unsupported and won't get any updates. And another vote for the Quark kit. Just finished setting up a laptop (Linux) and two android tablets to interface with the A024 model. All of them work perfectly. Tested using the free version of OpenCPN on the tablets (will upgrade to paid for now I'm happy it works). FWIW the receiver works with Marine Navigator on the tablets too.
I had a bit of a bummer at the w/e. Loaded Ocpn on my cheap Chinese tablet. Every time I tried to point it to the charts location it crashed out of setup, both under 'spanner' and under the drop down menu.
To be fair, when I downloaded it, it did warn me that it hadn't been tested on my device.
