Anyone used Highway Marine, Sandwich for a service ?

Hi all,

Looking to book my boat (2010 Bayliner Trophy 2352, 5.0l Mercruiser) in for a service.
She's running well, but just for peace of mind etc.

As she's moored up at Ramsgate, the nearest place is Highway Marine at Sandwich.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this Company, good, bad or indifferent ?

Have you tried wandering in to Marlec Marine in the Ramsgate arches? They have an engineer who is supposed to be good (I've had him recommended to me but had no call to use him yet). There is also IVSS Marine (if you google you will find a website) but also why not have a cruise around to Dover where there are a number of engineers. I've used Mick from M&P Marine services for some advice before and found him really good. Again can be found on google.

If you find anyone else in the local area who is good, It would be great if you let me know too :-)

I will pop in to Marlec and see what he says. As I only got the boat last August and she was brought up to A1 condition before I took delivery, I may not need that much done - so a local bod to poke around before I commit to unnecessary expense is probably a good idea.
Had a chat with Highway, sounds helpful, albeit pricey....
M&P at Dover seems to get good feedback, Mick's on hols at the mo but he has replied to me and says he'll give me a shout when he's back on Wednesday so that sounds encouraging.

I'll keep you posted :-)

I'm currently in the middle of dealing with IVSS and so far their customer service is impeccable. Nice guys too.

Glad I could offer some help.

Highway are renound for being pricey.

Keep us updated as I'm always keeping an ear open for recommendations in my area. I'm based out of Dover.
