Anyone taken the CEVNI test?

I've just got the RYA book on Euro Regs for Inland waterways - its only 24 pages but written very small and there are a lot of regs- Anyone know if its worth doing a course? or just taking the test?

Yes, most definately. I done mine a couple of years ago. Its an easy test with a bit of boat handling. I found it very informative.

Did it a couple of years ago. 15 multiple choice questions I think. quite easy. To pass I don't think you'll need to do the course just read the book a couple of times.

If it's any help I was told before the test that there were no "night" questions. So that ruled out all the bits on light signals. Otherwise just a matter of learning. Test easier than I expected. (Didn't stop me getting a couple wrong though!!)

The book contains enough; but don't be surprised if not all the questions can be answered even with the book in front of you.

You need to answer 11 out of 14 questions correctly. Multiple choice stuff and any skipper worth his salt should get 100% (on the day of the test, anyway /forums/images/icons/smile.gif)
