Might be a long shot, but Thames wasn't particularly busy in central London with pleasure craft even before lockdown. Yet, there are quite a few boats moored from Battersea to Richmond lock. Which prompts a suggestion that people are underusing their boats. Which I think a shame with such a gorgeous river.
Ever since I passed my RYA Powerboat L2 in Greenwich, I'm on and off with a search to find a way to sail tidal Thames without full blown investment into a boat, mooring etc. Any chance that someone might be willing either take me on board as a crew from time to time in return for some maintenance help for example; or offer a share in not too expensive boat?
I know there is an option also to buy a cheaper rib + trailer and then launch it for every trip, but that seems to be still quite big investment + not sure where can I find a public slip to launch + nowhere to store the rib + this boat will be also underused as I have a sailing boat in the South.
The overall aim is to hone my powerboating skills and explore central London by boat on my own plus occasionally with family and friends. Long-term, maybe even to sit local knowledge experience exam (which requires 60 check-ins with Thames patrol)
