My wife is unable/refusing to winch my 15 stone up the mast. I'm thinking of using the blocks from my mainsheet to make a 6.1 block and tackle to make it possible.
Anyone recommend the cheapest supplier.

Why do you need 14mm braid on braid? When I was climbing we used either a single 11mm or double 9mm rope. Given there should be no shock loads then 10mm should do.

For me the best place for rope is Jimmy Green's in Beer, excellent service, a fantastic view and just down the road some of the best crab sandwiches on the planet.
 
Not directly answering your query, but have you thought of a "Topclimber" type of device. If you already have a bosun's chair, you can add a couple of ascenders, from a climbing shop, and two looped ropes for foot-stirrups. SWMBO can then go shopping while you climb independently.
Incidentally, it's amazing how much a halyard stretches with 15 stones on it.
 
You don’t want climbing rope as it’s dynamic, you need absail or halyard static rope. Standard 10 or 11mm will more than cope with two or three of you up the mast with ease.

As an alternative, I have an old halyard on the mast which is used for jummars to assist going up on a standard halyard in the bosuns chair.

If your wife won’t winch you up the mast why not tie one end to your car’s rear bumper/towing eye and get her to gently drive away from the boat?
I emphasise the word “gently” and make sure she can hear you yelling out when to stop.
 
Gone are the days of being winched up. I bought a Mastaclimba (contact Graham Wright of this forum, who makes them) and have not looked back. It makes the whole thing a doddle.

I have the kit to go up (jumars) and come down (descender) solo, and have done so, but it’s safer to get someone to belay you on a spare halyard.
