I've got my mum, sisters and neice on board for the weekend for a long planned girls only session. :D Please please please hope the weather stays ok.

Anyone else around in the Crouch?

We will be at Bridgemarsh on Sat night, but probably anchoring at Yokesfleet on Sunday night. Or we may end up on the pontoon at Fambridge!

Temporary NTM overlooked by TG -

River Crouch imminent. Hot air in the vicinity of SY Black Magic. Anchoring or mooring within 200metres not advised. Danger to sails and ear drums ends Sunday evening.

(Have a great weekend X)

Weather permitting, we hope to overnight in the Hole on Sunday night, try and keep the noise down:).
BTW big tides this weekend, pick your spot carefully, there's not much water in places.

Second thoughts may be not :eek:

well, so much for my brave and hardy crew. :o

Saturday was clearly a washout, so everyone mustered aboard late Saturday afternoon. By which time I'd discovered a diesel leak, so the boat was in disarray while I sorted that out. Got that sorted and my mum took everyone to Burnham for chinese food. After much chin-wagging and gossiping finally put to bed at 11pm. Crew had orders to be ready to depart by 10.30am on Sunday.

Instead, what happened was that 9 year old niece was sick in the night, mother's snoring kept everyone awake, sister no. 1 complained all night about boat noises and sister no. 2 started coughing and sneezing due to cat allergy (we suspect). the upshot was that me, mum and niece got up on Sunday morning and did bird watching and fishing and decided to wait until the others woke, thinking we'd go out for just a few hours in the afternoon.

The reality was that it was so flipping cold and drizzled all day, so I put the cockpit tent up to sit it out and see if it cleared.

awaiting the drizzle to clear:

but it just got colder and colder:

until EVERY item of bedding (and that amounts to 3 duvets, 2 sleeping bags, 5 blankets and 12 pillows) ended up in the cockpit along with laptop and a movie.

My wimpy sisters slooped off home on Sunday night :( but my wonderful mum stayed and the lovely Mrs FC joined us on a bright and sunny bank holiday Monday for a great sail up river and back. A perfect sail with wind on the beam and making 4.5knts on just the headsail - so this meant my mum enjoyed it even more because there was virtually no heel.

Perfect end to a fairly typical weekend with my sisters!
