Anyone live near Lewes?

I am visiting Lewes in May (living in Denmark) and would like to pick up a few things in a local chandlery. Could anyone tell me where the nearest one can be found? Preferably with a phone no., E-mail address or web-page URL.

Nearest ports/marinas are Brighton, Newhaven and Eastbourne, all about 20 mins by car. Considering all that, chandlers aren't impressive. Newhaven has a small chandlery Russell Simpson Marine, but it's a bit sparse and not terribly helpful (01273 612612) - russellsimpsonmarine.co.uk. There was one in Brighton marina which was better, but I believe that it has closed down - if you want electronics Eurotek were good and helpful when I had my yacht in Brighton marina (01273 818990) www.eurotekmarine.co.uk. Eastbourne has little of use, as far as I can remember.

If you have the time, it would be worth spending 90 minutes heading down to the Hamble on the A27/M27 which has a far better choice.

Try G.P.Barnes Southwick(Lady B Marina halfway between Brighton and Shoreham).
20 mins drive on a good day from Lewes.Buses and trains pass the door.

I have pasted a load of East Sussex chandleries below. There is a chandlery at Brighton, called SMR marine, open 7 days a week. Bigger than any of the other three, but in my experience the Russell Simpson at Newhaven is more likely to have some of the slightly non-standard stuff (they have an amazing upstairs store room with all sorts of stuff.)

Eastbourne chandlery is a smaller version of SMR. Barnes at Shoreham is okay, but ring first to check they are open. I don't know the others below.
