Just thinking of getting one for our summer holiday.... with a 10yr old daughter you got to think of entertainment...

There seems a load on ebay, but this one caught my eye... any experts out there that would like to tell me if its any good?

Please consider it may be used just a couple of times...so I don't want to spend a fortune...but also would like on that won't spit me out as soon as I try and get in it!!:)

There isn't much detail of how it's made, and it's not clear from the photos whether it has a fabric outer layer. The weight suggests it does, and on that basis it looks OK. If you want two adults plus your daughter to fit in, then you need a bigger one, like a Sevylor Hudson.

I'm thinking I've got no hope persuading SWMBO to get in with us... so am sure a 2 seater would be OK. Sevylor Hudson looks another £100 or so...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sevylor-Hudson-KCC360-2-1-Kayak-/190853401368?pt=UK_Sporting_Goods_CanoesKayaks_Rafts_SM&hash=item2c6fbfcb18

We bought a Sevylor Colorado 2-seater at the boat show for about £200 inc paddle and pump. Tried it out for the first time a couple of weeks ago, great fun, felt very well put together.

Cheers

Thanks Jimmy, £200 seems a bargain, they are a lot more than that on feebay now!

So that is 2 recommendations for Sevylor's.... seemingly the most expensive inflatable Kayaks you can buy... isn't it always the way!

I think it was, esp given that it included the paddle and pump (although I just use the electric inflator I've already got on the boat).

A quick google gives this, which isn't too far adrift (did you see what I did there :D)

And another, it's a well put together piece of kit.

I did see what you did there, very sharp this afternoon aren't you...! :-)

Thanks for that link, looking better, although by the looks of it no oars or pump... Tell me, when its packed away...what sort of size are we talking about?

It's about the same size as a four-person valise liferaft, perhaps very slightly smaller. The Colorado comes with a bag and it was easy enough to deflate and fold up (unlike, for example, an airdeck tender). If you want, I can take a photo of it in it's packed-away state tomorrow when I'm on the boat.

thanks Jimmy, I thought it would be about that size. With an ickle boat I just had a thought of where it would go, and that sort of size is spot on. cheers for the steer on this.

My SWMBO bought herself one of these for 'my' birthday

I have to say that it is an excellent piece of kit and she uses it quite regularly. Ours has a sail kit too which is OK but really only suitable for light winds. The company were very fair too when after a couple of seasons we experienced corrosion in a few of the stainless steel fittings. They just sent us some replacements from the USA foc without any hassle

I just measured it - 70 x 35 x 30. I took a photo but photobucket's being an ar$e tonight so that might have to wait for another time, sorry.
