Anyone know where's a good deal on antifoul online?

Toolstation do Flag for £37 /2.5litre, so slightly more than the gaels. I could never get it in store, had to order. This year is the trial for it. Two coats on 22" Liberty needed 2.5 litres.

A trawl of what's on ebay is worth a try, the last lot I got was 2 x 2.5l tins of hempel hard racing for about half price. That was enough for 2 coats of my 32fter, several more of leading edges & a bit left over...

Soon be time to put it on! :)

The effectiveness of most antifouling varies from harbour to harbour. The cheapest is unlikely to be the best value for money. It doesn't matter how cheap it is if it doesn't work where you moor it is a waste of money. It just makes the boat look smart when it is launched.

Ask other boat owners who moor near you which make they find successful and then search for the cheapest price.

As for coverage, well obviosly it depends how thickly it is applied. I find a 3 litre tin covers a 42' fin keeler with one coat that lasts a summer.

Several antifoulings were tested at Cargreen, on the Tamar, some years ago. Flag (the cheapest then and now) came out as joint best buy out of the 10 tested (YM test I think). But, as said, it will depend on where you moor your boat.
