you can buy those neat mooring lines with the integrated spring/snubbers? Saw quite a few of them on big Fairlines and their ilk in marinas last season.

After numerous broken nights sleep due to creaking and complaining of mooring lines I hoped this might be the answer. Can I find anyone who advertises they sell 'em? No chance. Just spent a good hour googling and checking out known on-line chandlers. Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Ive got one in a box on the boat will look up details over weekend, but you are aware they have a shelf life. I was told dont use them for more than 2 years as you cant see the rubber inside and dont know if it is breaking up.

'mooring springs'.
'mooring snubbers'.
Loads of results

Yeah thanks Kwackers - my fault I should have given more info. I got the same results interspersed with loads of rubbish about how to set up spring lines etc. It isn't actually what I was looking for - that was something much more specific, and I probably didn't describe them very well.

The ones I saw had the steel springs enclosed in a sort of rubber bellows; they protected the ends of the springs from the elements. They looked professionally made up into the mooring lines - all colour co-ordinated - and very smart. I'm looking for these rather than just the springs to make up my own.

I hadn't seen the PBO thread as I don't get time to read all of the forums - just the MB and some of the more interesting topics in the lounge - I spend too much time "virtually" boating as it is. Cheers.
