Hi everyone

As part of a autonomous robot boat project, I've got my hands on an old autopilot. We're trying to get it talking to our mini-itx computer we are a bit stuck with a connector.

I wondered if anyone knew what sort of connector this is?

View attachment 1740

Its on the back of a Navico WheelPilot5000 autohelm
Its where some sort of programmer was connected I think

What I cant find is what sort of plug/socket it is.

It has 8 pins in that pattern and is 13.7mm internal diameter and 8.5mm deep
(the 1p piece isn't attached - its just for scale!)

The socket cover has 'CXA' on it but I cant find anything sensible to do with that.

It would be great if someone had either come across something like this, or knew what it might be called.

Thanks

Richard

The rubber gasket/waterproof covers on the Autohelms have RX4 moulded into them. The plug is retained in place by a retaining ring which screws onto the socket your picture shows.

Nautech/Autohelm/Raymarine used Driplug connectors available here for some connections so this may be one of theirs also. I have found them to be most helpful.

The handbook is available on the Raymarine website here.
