Anyone know what make of boat this is? Or is it, as I suspect, a trawler that someone's converted? It's got the "Alalunga" style steps on the stern.

I kind of like it and, if anyone knows of it or the owner, I'm curious to know if it's for sale.

It appears not quite finished so it might be the sort of project I'd like to take on :)

I've not been to Brighton for a few months so not entirely sure if the boat is still there, although it's been there for the last couple of years.

I think it has been there many years! And if its the one I think it is there is a permanent big submersible pump running on it 24/7...

You might be thinking about the wooden-hulled Welsh Conquest, which was on a hammerhead for many years before finally being sold and towed away perhaps five years ago? It had a white hull though.

If the blue-hulled boat referred to by the OP is the one that I remember from my years in Brighton, it has a relatively narrow beam, and is disproportionately tall. The rumour used to be that it never went anywhere because of stability issues. Might be a completely different boat though!

I know nothing about it but quite like it. Can't judge the beam from that pic but looks ok. Hull is rusty but superstructure not, so maybe it has Ali superstructure. That would be highly relevant to stability. The negative views on stability might therefore be unfounded. Maybe someone recognises it from the Bruce Roberts catalogue? Anyway, nice looking little ship

Maybe... it was a good few years ago I was last in there (afloat anyway).

The boat was for sale about 3 years ago 200k from memory but required a refit
It's been in the boat yard for about a year there where guys doing carpentry works on the interior last summer not sure how far they got

I'm down there tomorrow and will have a look and post something back

Thanks for the info Gemini. I was hoping to pop down to Brighton this weekend. Looking forward to any info you find out though :)

The boat is a Tralfager 70
name Lady Marel Southampton on transom
But looks like it either faded or been removed
Steel construction
Been in the boat yard over a year

My contact was not around to get any
Details

May be worth a call to the marina

But looking at the externals need a
big bank balance just to tidy up

Regards
