Hello to all
I am recently able to say that a little gaffer "Myloe" has adopted the missus and myself as its latest caretakers.
As such "a bit" of work is required to restore Myloe to former glory, there in lies the problem!!!
I have no idea what the former glory may have involved, and so hope someone can help.
Having not had time to measure up (we bought myloe in a rush, the day before I flew out for work) I would say that the stats are (approx)
LWL 16ft
beam 6 ft
draught 4ft
She has a gaff cutter rig, with a club staysail, 3 ft of bowsprit, looks like mahogany planking, bronze fastened, and all the fittings look to be iron including the ballast.
I have trawled the internet to find what Myloe might have once been, as I would like to restore to an "as built" state.
Its not proving easy!
- clinker with iron fittings - not really a gents racer?
- spoon bow - not really a workman, pilot, or quay punt?
- tiny folkboat, hmm, was there ever such a thing?
- 3/4 deck, am I missing a cuddy or cabin - is this along early corribee lines?
These are the only pics I have and hope that someone can help, It would be nice to know if I have a racer or cruiser, if the rig belongs, and what badge I should put on the new sails, oh and if the sails should be tan or white.
Many thanks in advance, and I look forward to reading the suggestions
