I reckon you should rig a temporary mast and fly the Forum burgee.

Sure beats the Olympic torch thingy, doesn't it ! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Friday 8th Feb definitely a GO. My boat comes off the water for the annual scrub/af etc. at Shamrock Quay on that day. So down and back on the same day.

Storage at Stratford not a problem.

Let me know where to do the collection. ( From your photo looks like the area at the back of Alladin's Cave by John Mendez's office )

Thats exactly where it is, but didn't want to say, in case someone reads this and walks in to Atlas Marine and says, 'Hi I'm PeterandJeanette, I'm here to pick up a trailer', and away its goes, stolen.
I have just phoned Nick and told him not too let it go to anyone till next Friday.

Once all organised, I will give all relay team members a call to get and give relative information.

Cheers Peter.

Then the first person can drop in and have a coffee before they leave! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I was down there today and saw the trailer and thought "oops, someones' boat's been nicked"! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Glad to have that cleared up, then. I must say, it does look nice! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If only I had a towbar, and a storage place, and a mistress! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I'd join in somewhere down that line... honest /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It looks like the relay kicks off on the 8th.

I just need to know who is going to take the trailer from me in Preston on the 9th?

If not, then there will be a trailer for sale advert going up on the forum on the 10th!

Hi Alistair,

I'll not be any use to you unless you're doing a round trip of Ireland as well but one thing that occurs to me is getting your boat on/off the trailer.

If you're always putting it in/out of the water yourself in freshwater I imagine there's no issues (ish) with corrosion, however if you're dunking it in seawater you may want to figure out where launching straps would be on your boat and get "notches" cut in the supports so that you can still store her at home/(insert cheap storage area here) but that you would be able to get here launched/recovered/cleaned/antifouled by a boatyard with a suitable lift. This way you wouldn't be suffering from the saltwater corrosion problems with the brakes/bearings etc.

Apologies if this has already been said before or completely irrelevant!

Enjoy the relay,

Jason.

Oh yes, I forgot. You will need a lighting board.

Oh Yes, I forgot to mention. You won't need a light board, I've asked for one to be supplied with the trailer so as its completely legal for everyone taking part, It may not be new, just as long as it works, i told Nick.

However all members of the relay time WILL need their own number plate and duck tape to attach it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good Idea Jason, but I'm not to sure what I'll be doing with it. It may just be used to store the boat on it till i sell the boat, or i may use it too dry berth the boat at Largs marina, in which case the marina will be launching the boat for me.

Cheers
