Richard sorry for the delay as I've been busy with festivities :D and had an email crash

I am still working on Finesse II so she is in the north east corner of the yard behind Rig Magic and may not be finished until March. After sea trials we plan to relocate to France as semi live aboards, ie 3 weeks on and off the boat.

I live close so let me know when you plan to be at SYH and maybe we can meet for lunch. Also off to the London Boat Show this Friday.

Best wishes for 2012 :)

hello all moboers.
Yes I still lurk but dont post as often as I used to.

I would strongly (and politely) suggest that the moboers join in one of the events held during the year. They are all FUN and no prejudices are shown to each persuasion.
In fact what I consider to be one of my best friends is a raggie. I have also spent a lot of time on his yacht sailing.....he had also been on my boat.

I have previously suggested that there should be some shared cruises as it gives each other (raggie/mobo) a chance to understand what its like on the other type of boating.

I havent met a raggie that I didnt like and have found ALL boaters on the East coast forum understand each other (perhaps an exception with the inconsiderate wash thread earlier.....but there are good and bad in all walks of life)

Finesse II
Hi Graham.
you may remember me.
I did my day skipper practical on your boat.
And you may recall we went on an accompanied trip to Holland with EASS together. They used my boat (Seailine S29...Stilldunno) as the lead boat.
Hope the refit goes well. She is a very nice boat.

Hopefully 2012 will allow me to attend more events than the last couple of years.....so if anyone needs a crew member I will be more than happy to join you.....and I know how to pull bits of string to get them flappy bits up the stick too :D:D

We, me n Mel done a shared cruise with D3B & throughly enjoyed it.
Happy New Year Doug ;)

Mobos and raggies can get along just fine - it is just people with a common enjoyment of the water.

I had a 3 week cruise in company in 2010 with up to 5 boats (joining and leaving as we moved along the french coast) including a Princess 45, Trintella 35, Carter 33 (all 2 up) and a 35 Cat and my Cutlass 27 both singlehanded. Not usually a fan of 'cruising in company' and with that mix of boats was decided we would not even try and just meet up in a new Port. After all the Princess couldn't manage my average of 4knots!

Hi Merlyn

Three boats you know based at the end of the Peninsula Kiki, Kingfisher and as of last year Binky (Phil & Carron) give us a shout if you are down our 'end'.

All three of us members of Shotley Point Yacht Club so find ourselves on club events with our yachting cousins quite regularly.

I still look in from time to time, but been rather busy catching up on all the jobs that have been neglected during the past 3 years (since we bought the current boat and have spent too much time on it).

Currently based in Shotley with a Merry Fisher 805, but planning to move back to Wisbech for this year, while we get completely caught up on the outstanding jobs.
