... on Facebook?

Signed up to the thing last year to keep tabs on the kids (I "made" them befriend me) and then actually started using it when I was away earlier this year. Even now I'm back, I've found it to be strangely addictive.
Found some old, long-lost friends and made some new ones.

So, just wondering...

Seems a shame that after all communication you could not give your post a title that gave us some clue as to the content.

Used to have a facebook account - then I saw what they were doing with info sharing etc. and how hard it was to keep your privacy settings properly adjusted - they introduce new features that are enabled by default and you have to remember to go and turn them off.

Closed the account - don't ask me how hard that was (which tells me something in itself).

Confirmed FB addict. Would have lost touch with old friends and good aquaintences otherwise. It doesn't replace face to face or phone, but it keeps good friendships going.

thing is - how we gonna find each other when everyone has different names?! I'll go first. you can find me if you search for Lisa Pini. :) I await the deluge of new friends!

I like it because it's a very easy way of photo sharing. Just watched a video of my super cool nephew performing on stage with his band - I'm far too ancient and grumpy for him to have bothered sending me the link, but via fb, he can oblige all his crusty rellies in one go! :D Similarly, when my sister was travelling it was a great way of keeping a blog and updating everyone with photos.

WHen marc was in hospital I could let all his mates know.

I also use it for organising alumni events.

It has it's uses. You just have to be careful with the privacy settings.
