I was goint to buy a set of these but the supplier will not provide repacking instructions and says the LJ must be returned to them. I think this is unreasonable. Should one inflate for any reason and I had a re-arm kit I could continue my cruise. I know I could probably work it out but I object to their principle so if I cannot get the instructions I will buy a differnt make. Can you help, please?

It repacks ina similar fashion to just about any other lifejacket.....
Replace any expended/out of date items. Deflate completely by depressing valve in oral inflation tube. Next, run zip fastener back round to the start position. There are three small areas with only one side of the zip has teeth: these areas allow the zip to open when the jacket is activated. You’ll notice these as you work the slider round to the start.
Look at the bladder. You’ll see where and which way it was folder to fit into the cover. Starting where the zip starts, fold and hold the bladder so it’ll fit inside the cover. Make sure the manual toggle is routed outside the zip and do the zip up. Fasten the Velcro tabs over the break free bits of the zip. Work your way round the jacket with the zip, folding the bladder into the cover and doing up the zip as you go and closing the Velcro tabs.
Once you’ve done the zip up, you’ll need to use a pencil to tuck away the zip ends, don’t leave them dangling. Final check to make sure the manual is toggle is hanging outside the cover and the jobs done.
Most life jackets are pretty much the same, although many use Velcro instead of zips to hold the cover closed.
I’ve got a couple, of these jackets on the boat and liked them very much: robust and comfortable to wear. The gig club also has a few: best jackets we have and easiest to keep in service because the zips are not prone to coming undone or failing like the ones which use Velcro.
Never had a lifejacket which came with repacking instructions. All seem to expect that either you know how to do it or that you’ll pay someone to do the job....

Not wishing to be rude, but if you have the where with all to sail a boat, surely folding up a LJ after deployment shouldn't be an issue.
Plus, if it requires a salesman to do it at his shop, I wouldn't buy it in the first place!

Many thanks. I am probably being too concerned about their principle of not publishing the instructions. Crewsaver publish instructions and videos How to Guides

First Mate and I use Kru Sport waistcoat type LJ's.

Every season I open them - weak spots on the zips, colour coded so you know where to pull them apart. I inflate, leave 48 hours, check and weigh the CO2 bottles and check the plastic clips, deflate and put them back together again.

Must get some new ones soon - they are ten years old.
