I recently bought a Sunspeed 27 motorsailor. It has quite an unusual layout for a 27 footer, pretty beamy with a centre cockpit. Here is the link to the original advert with a picture: http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1585457/0). The prospectus says "designed by Robert Tucker and built by Sunspeed Boats of Reading in 1980". The company does not exist anymore, I tried to get information about the builder as well as the boat type I bought, but had no success on the net. Has anyone more information for me, are there any other Sunspeed's afloat in UK or Europe?

Hello and welcome. The reason no one is replying is probably because your link takes you directly to the front page of yachtworld and gives the impression that you are using the forum solely as a sales/marketing tool.

I can see that there actually was/is a Sunspeed make of motor yacht so hang on and I'm sure someone will come along and help.

As this the link you meant?

Seems the one in the link was a bare hull fitted out by the owner over 20 years so don't see where the "Robert Tucker" design bit comes in unless they are referring to the hull form.

Re: No, this one...

To Clarify:
This is the link to the advert incl. a photo of the Sunspeed I bought.
This is a link to another Sunspeed 27 currently for sale (for illustration purposes).

Any information much appreciated!

Re: No, this one...

That boat was sold this year in Ipswich via Fox's.

You must be the chap from Scotland who purchased it.

I know MOST of it's history, i was the previous owner of it.

I would also be interested in info on Sunspeed Boats as I have recently put a Sunspeed 24 back in the water, but have had no luck in finding out much about her builders, etc.
