Anyone got a potato gun in Bury, Cambridge, Woodbridge or Ipswich?

I promised my daughter a canon for her 7th birthday party (theme is Neldon vs Napoleon), party is next weekend. I've tried to make a potato canon but failed. Has anyone got one in their garage I can borrow? Hairspray powered one is the sort I'm looking for.

Encouraging 7 yr olds to play with aerosols, explosives, projectiles and killing Frenchies, that's my sort of parenting :).
We don't want any of that namby pamby playing with dollies.

+1

I have a few full bore bits and pieces 'liberated' from a couple of theatres of war stashed away for when the OP's kids reach teenage years. Give me a shout and I will dig them up.

I do have one as the Forum knows.
See my P.M.

Thanks guys, Clive has been a real sport and is making one. The full bore equipment sounds fun, we're making a cut out wooden ship to fire potato at on Saturday - Clive says it's capable of doing real damage - can't wait!

If it's anything like the one some of us have seen being fired by Clive, trust me, the video is pretty accurate

I'll take a video of it in action, Holly's making the French ship out of cardboard and plywood, should get a right good potatoing, Clive's a real star for making one for us.

Just a public thanks to Clive for his help; he's made it and we're collecting tomorrow. The Frenchies Man-o-war stands no chance against true English potatoes, I must make sure they're King Edwards.

Just been test firing the cannon.
The new ignition system seems to make it fire better that my one.
It's got a loud, sharp bang and a reasonable kick.
Don't know haw far the spud will go as I dare not fire it with any upward elevation around here.
To many greenhouses etc.

Hope the party goes with a bang!!

p.s.
I do have enough of the pipe left to make at least 2 more.
If some one wants the pipe and instructions send me a PM.
Uses standard plumbing fittings and a BBQ spark igniter.
