My turn to make a request!

Has anybody got a big, and I do mean big, gear puller?

I need something with a yoke at least 5", preferably more, in diameter and ideally 3 legs although 2 might do

The readily available 4" and 6" pullers have small yokes (the bit the legs bolt onto with the screw down the middle) about 4" across and the hub of our feathering prop is too wide to get the puller to work properly.

I'm up a creek without the proverbial paddle at the moment, The prop has defeated all efforts to remove it (wedges, heath robinson pulling contraptions, bashing it with hammers etc. Can't use heat because of the grease packed hub) and it needs to come off in order to replace the cutlass bearing

I'm going to try withdrawing the whole shaft tomorrow but I fear it's a forlorn hope because I don't think I can angle it enough to clear the rudder skeg due to ... the very large hub on the feathering prop!

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions and the calls. We think we have a solution once the rudder is off courtesy of a forumite who shall remain nameless for reasons I can't explain!

The rudder is dropped ready to come off as soon as the hands are, um, on hand, to assist with its removal
