I presume this is the lock just below Flatford Mill – bringing back pleasant memories of a canoe trip up there this summer – but would welcome confirmation.

I think Charlie Stock in Shoal Waters was the last vessel to reach there from the sea.
He wasn't made very welcome, they said he spoilt the view!

Yes, I thought he might have been - assuming of course it's the restored lock of which I'm thinking. We cheated and put in the canoes just above Cattawade Bridge - but perhaps one can no longer get up past the bridge as he did, even in a canoe.
