So whilst most sane folks were in bed, we left Gosport in the dark and pottered over to the Brambles Bank to watch the cricket. Well, I couldn't get tickets for the Oval, so this had to do!

There was one ringer being fielded - Rory McGrath (along with film crew). A great laugh was had by all, and a superb 'breakfast on a stick' was being offered, so we had to try it. Very nice it was too :)

Geoff Holt survived a couple of wheel-before appeals. I wish him well with his trans-atlantic trip!

Very entertaining despite the slight drizzle and pitch which cut up worse than the Oval :) Looking forward to a nice day now.....

Great post Rick. How was Bournemouth?

Must confess, we ended up staying on the Beaulieu river as it was so nice and I was feeling lazy after the early start!

BBQed in the evening and Whitelighter even turned up just as the plum crumble was being served :)

Hmm, yes the Plum Crumble and ice cream was excellent, and a nice little mid muck about break.

As post work boating trips go, last night was very pleasant, if a little wet on the way home.

Oh damm ... if I knew crumble was on the menu we'd've stuck around too!! ;)

Well, seeing as I'm taking up a new position of 'galley slave' in 3 weeks time I've got to get some practice in! :)

As to how long the bank was exposed, we landed just after 6am and left just before 7am. The bank was covering over quite quickly at that point. I guess it was exposed for just over an hour.
