Anyone ever ordered from Marine Megastore? (UK)

I have recently tried to get goods from MSS. I ordered on 16.05.11 and inspit of many attempts to get delivery information from them - latest today - waited 1 hr on their "Live Chat" site only to be cut off when finally acknowledged! I am still waiting - do these guys really not like doing business?
 
Just had a lucky escape, was about to buy from these guy's then checked this thread. Tried to order a pump assembly for a TMC toilet, asked if they had it in stock, they said they did not and it would be 3 months but could offer me a Jabsco as an alternative. I then asked is the Jabsco compay=tible with the TMC, they said they did'nt know!
 
At last

received the goods today - only to be shown that they were posted yesterday at a cost of £1.95 - so some 18 calander days from placing the order and not one reasonable response to any of my queries as to when the goods could be expected. Deffinitely avoid trying to do any future business these people!

I ordered some sound insulation from them and they charged me £40 to deliver to France and said it was in stock and would take 7 to 10 delivery time,it took over a month to finally arrive it came in 3 different deliverys as it was not in stock as they said
The worst thing is after checking my bank statement I saw they had taken another £20 more from my account a month later without informing why!
NEVER GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BANK DETAILS
 
marine megastore are a joke, only part of my order turned up, kept phoning and was told to chat on there messenger service, not possible when you are working. two months pass and finally get told they had sent the rest of my order previous, i ask when they sent it, the person on the phone cannot give me a answer, told them i had not received my part and had to pay again for the same part to be sent. its been so much hassle dealing with them i have not got the time to chase them for a refund, to be honest i have probably paid more in phone calls chasing them than the original cost of the part. they never update the status of orders online.

GJJ101 - I think you may be mixing up the store names; Marine Superstore is a totally different business to the one mentioned in this thread, and as far as I know have a good standard of response and service, unlike the Marine Megastore at Hamble.

Might I suggest that you all write to an agreed Trading Standards Office near to where this business is based.
Enough complaints I would imagine for them to be threatened with court action.
 
4 weeks after an order I sent an email asking where it was, this is presumably an automated reply.
If I was to have a chatbox open during work time, there would be consequences.!
As my hours are 7am - 7pm, Mon - Fri there is no window for telephoning an enquiry.
So, my only means of contact is email, THEY DON'T WANT TO USE THIS METHOD.!
Customer relations is not on Marine Megastore's agenda.!

If you haven't got the message yet....Don't buy from them unless you can collect it from their premises, a superstore they are not- and don't care about customer satisfaction in spite of their so-called 'chat line'.

Yep once ordered some stuff off them, half the order arrived but they took full payment.

Despite many contacts via the "chatline" James I think the bloke was called and despite them saying that my stuff was discontinued and unavailable and despite repeated assurances that I would be refunded for the missing items nothing happened for about 4 months.

In the end I got in touch with my CC company and they refunded my money after a considerable rigmarole.

STAY CLEAR of these charlatans.
 
Marine Megastore woes

It seems that they consistently treat people poorly.
ordered something on the site
they did nothing with the order for one week
when I called them to aks fo rthe status was forced on to chat facility
their team member eventually told me I could not have what I ordered but I could only have an item that was described EXACTLY as per the item I ordered(?!?) if I paid extra money?
When I tried to explain the rep just repeated himself until in frustration I just placed the order elsewhere and got imediate confirmation and updates on my order daily.

I was so frustrated at not being listened to I emaied the cheif exec (never done that before) got a std reply repeating the same rubbish.

I recomend using them as a very last resort when no one else stocks the item and then only if not an improtant or urgent item.
