Anyone else order from Raymarine stand at LBS?

There are a lot of business out there that walk a very fine tight rope. You will probably find it's either Revenue and Customs or the Bank. He probably did rather well out of LIBS. Taking money and not supplying anything. With a bit of luck Raymarine may step forward and sort it out. Looks like your covered by your C.Card anyway if you paid more than £100 with it. Keep all your receipts and write down all your phone calls and to who. Good luck ..

I had the same issue with a bathroom fitting company. I had paid an initial deposit by cheque and another payment by credit card.
I got the whole transaction back from thr credit card provider including the part paid by cheque. You will need to get evidence of the payment you made by other means but the bank should provide that free.
I suggest you contact your credit card company immediately. They will tell you what to do.

I researched this a lot when I paid a £500 deposit on credit card for a brand new car. The dealer went into receivership the day after I had paid the balance using a debit card. As it happened I eventually got the car.

Shortly after, I heard that a friend's daughter had 'lost' £500 when she purchased some white goods from a firm that subsequently went into receivership. She had paid partly by credit card and partly by cash. The credit card company refused to refund the cash part. Even though this was over two years ago, we telephoned the financial ombudsman who immediately took on the case and a few weeks later her money arrived in the post. The daughter also managed to get the ombudsman to claw back loss of interest on the money.

Section 75 works but the first port of call must be the credit card company. If they fail to refund the OP then the financial ombudsman will take them on - and win!
