The forecast looks very good - if you are going south!

I am sailing from Dartmouth to Lisbon, setting off on Saturday... With all the recent bad weather I am pleased to see some high pressure and northerlies setting in. Should be an excellent trip...

Pete

Wind is definitely looking less strong from where I'm sitting on my boat in Cascais, Still very much in the North though but i think I'll be making a move Northward up to Camarinas tomorrow and if we arrive by Saturday, hope to set out across Biscay on Sunday or Monday Northbound, destination anywhere UK will do but Lymington if given a choice!

I'll keep an eye out for you, what colours your boat - white? Mines white too!!

Have a good trip.

Cheers, Brian.

Hi Brian,

We are blue with white sails (50ft).

Perhaps see you out there!

Fair winds,

Pete

Not often Cascais gets mentioned here. We sail an SB20 from the Clube Naval de Cascais, adjacent to the Marina. Sounds too late for a beer with Brian but could get one with Pete!

I can confirm the weather is getting better here, was going to drop the mast on Tuesday evening, but it was blowing nearly 40 kts, so we did it last night, in the drizzle!

Sitting in Póvoa de Varzim just now so about 200nm North of you. It was foul yesterday with drizzle, wind and 3-4m swell all day. Looking much better today (currently 19kn N, 2-3m swell) and I think that it should be even better by Sunday onwards. I haven't taken too much attention of the forecast as we have paid to stay here until Tuesday. However, I was thinking that Sunday onwards was looking promising as far up as the UK.

Good luck to you and OP.

Weather a bit better today and winds forecast to ease off from Saturday but still very much in the North. Plan is to sail tomorrow for Camarinas and take stock there. If we can get away fRom Camarinas for Wednesday or Thursday I'll be a happy bunny. I think all the southbound boats including Halcyon and Lady in Red look like enjoying a decent ride.

Safe sailing.

Cheers, Brian.
