Evening all,

Am taking a day to have a play tomorrow. Leaving bridge marine at Walton on Thames, and unsure whether to head to Windsor or poss into London....

If I head downstream, can anyone give me the score with regards locks... Teddington in particular. I am in a Fletcher mobo so (correct me if I am wrong) but direction of tide shouldn't slow me down.. Given that I am a novice, and also that I will need to get back by to or row evening, how far do younthink I could reach?

Thanks for any last minute help!

have you taken lock operation times and speed limits into consideration in your passage planning ? River flow at legal speeds will normally affect the distance you can achieve. Max speed over the bed of the river is 8 kph.

Don't forget your umbrella - the forecast is for lotsa rain :)

Indeed. I'd be tempted to go upriver and shelter in a friendly pub when necessary

Have you been out before ?

Would suggest that from your post any trip down beyond Teddingdon needs a bit of prior planning by you and is not perhaps a last minute thing.

Neeed to get the tide just right, perhaps with HW coinciding where you plan to turn round and come back to ensure water under you on both outward and return trip, good idea to carefully plan your fuel as well, you will use far more fuel against tide and no nice day out needs to be marred by fuel worries as you return back up to lock.

Yes - think you are all right - was just a whim!

Spent most of the time putting the canopy up ahe weathernd down - but had a good day despite the weather.

thanks all
