Anyone at Chi this w/e or next week - spy needed

Somewhat incompetently, I'm not quite sure David. We have paid a biggish deposit, though we negotiated it well down on Fairline's published terms, and contract says we get a boat on completion. I suspect if they lose the boat, it's their risk, at least for now. I dont believe we own it now, we have a contract saying we pay the completion money and we get a boat.

Re: it has been found!

Yours must be the Sqd58 that arrived yesterday then, and yes it rained, thundered & lightening and snowed here late yesterday too...

Re: it has been found!

Thanks for sighting. Yup it arrived yesterday or day before, apparently. They say it was put straight in water. What state is it in? Is the fybridge mast etc all assembled? Or is it covered in snow? Where is it berthed? I'm gonna trudge down Sunday if weather is half decent

Ta for info Andrew. Moose#1 tells me it's on AA pontoon, not sure which one that is. It's boat number 74 - Peters have 3 or 4 newish ones either in stock or in PDI, usually the hull number is taped onto the transom. I think I'll trudge down to Chi on sunday for a butchers

Ooohh very nice, I've just had a butcher's at this on the F/line website, even gave me a video tour!

Which engines and layout have you got?
What will you call her? (will you use tcm's ploy of naming after SWMBO)
How will you get her to Antibes?
Dare we ask what one of these retails at? (not what u nailed em down to, although that would be interesting)
R U gonna charter her out?

ooh heck lots of questions

Questions....

715hp D12EVC volvos (yes, we actually chose volvos - these D12s are really nice engines imho, and painted white not green!). Onan 17kva genny

Layout is 5 cabin, aft crewcabin plus mid single berth cabin with loo, sink, washing m/c, instead of utility room. 3 cabins frontwards

Name is identical with old boat name, Braveheart of Lymington. There is a CPB (cunning plan Baldrick) involved in using the identical name, to outwit french officialdom. Will epxlain later, gotta run now, in office

It goes to Antibes by ship cargo mid march. Can play wiv it Chichester til then

Oo er retail is £630 + VAT and you need 70+VAT extras to make it decent (aircon, electronics, etc). This is list price. There are pretty good discounts if you haggle

It might be chartered very occasionally. I am buying this in the same syndicate as previous boat, so I only own 50% of her, and I plan to use my 50% time sharefor private boating but my 2 syndicate guys might charter 1 week a year each, if nice customers can be found.

That boat on the fairline.com video tour is hull #18, the 2002 showboat, It's for sale on several of the brokers pages, has been for sale since about May 03 I believe - we wnet to see it and put offer onnit but then pulled out as we found out it had been pranged, slightly, allegedly (sadly I know lots of detail on the used Sq58 market, can tell you all sorts of dodgy history on the boats for sale, that's why we bort as new one in the end)

AA "double A" pontoon is the one close to lock gate & fueling pontoon, drive right down to marina office, and park right at top of pontoon walk way.
