Anybody want a VAT free berth

I'm interested. When do you have to start the deal? We're not out of our current berth contract for a bit. Isn't there some deal with other marinas?

Free berthing at Shotley until your current contract runs out (or Apr 1), Let me introduce and I get money as well, I think.

From SHotley Website:-

If you would like to come to Shotley Marina before your current berthing contract runs out then you can come and stay with us now for free, even if your current contract does not finish until the end of March 2014. We would then only invoice you from the 1st April until the 31st December 2014. Berthing at Shotley means you can also stay at our sister marina Burnham Yacht Harbour for up to 30 days for free! For further information give us call on 01473 788982 or email us on sales@shotleymarina.co.uk.

Shotley is now 20% more expensive ;)

amidst this post-diluvian touting for custom by those impoverished marina owners, a lightbulb moment occurs:

If everyone moves one marina further up or down, and the - ahem - introductory commission is recirculated, then as a whole every boat owner reduces his/her berthing expenditure this year. Then, next year, you all move in the reverse direction for another set of 'offers'.

I'll take 0.5% of any deals brokered under this marine Ponzi scheme. :)

Deal do you do PP

All very true Sara, except I am at the bottom of the food chain. My marina is currently charging me £2048 per annum inc VAT for 35ft.
There are no special deals....

Paying £1800 inc vat for 34 feet at the moment but we want all tide and much closer to home. The extra £900pa at Foxs will hurt but the shorter journey meaning I can pop down in half an hour will be a treat. The all tide access is essential with reduced weekend times. We'll see if they can do the deal for a lateish 2014 start.

Also inexpensive food in our family friendly club & only £80 PA membership for a family. Application forms available @ http://www.fmyc.org.uk

We liked our visits to FMYC. Is there still that deal where you get a biggish discount off other marinas in some association?

Foxs not listed.

So, how many actual free berths are there available - and for what size of boat?
It's all very well floating this 'VAT free berth' offer if there are no actual vacancies...

I will update with my experiences. Seems like a lot of trouble to go to to pee off existing as well as prospective berth holders if there are no vacancies. Otherwise it will be Woolverstone buoy and ashore scheme for us.

Without this is like one of those Aldi offers for cheap laptops - when you're lucky there's one available in the shop on day one.

I don't think the berths are FREE - you do have to pay something !
