Could you do me a favour please and measure how far down the shaft the collar for the oar is?

Also any idea where I can buy the captive rowlocks?

Coo, I've just unearthed mine from the bosun's stores, and they look different. The length from the end to the inner edge of the captive oar lock is 17" but the handle is longer than yours. I suspect a previous owner shortened it, as it is possible to clash the oars together when rowing. Not a severe problem as it is easy to lower one and raise the other on the return stroke.

sorry I'm late with the info.

Standard Tramp with the captive rowlocks on a spigot. Length of the loom (distance between top of handgrip to the nearest point of the rowlock) is 22 inches.

I've got a pic but my iphone is playing silly buggers and won't speak with the PC.
