It was very mild last Christmas. The worst of the weather further west in Gib tends to be January and February, much like most of the Med I think.

Which would you choose to overwinter in, Malta or Gib?
Have spent 9 winters in Gib! I like it here but would like to try Malta one day.
I was watching that tv series 'Britain in the sun' which was about Gib.
I've got a sneeking feeling they were exagerating the 'bucket and spade' aspects of the Rock.
Is it really Backpool in the sun, or much nicer?
Having spent 2 consecutive winters in Gib I can honestly say I loved being there.
Malta is an amazing place to visit, just spent almost a month there. Marina fees are excessive in comparison to many other destinations though.
Licata, where we're wintering now, is very nice and incredible food. Friendly local folk and can't fault the marina.
There's just something about Gib, can't explain it but miss the place tons.
Its certainly nothing like Blackpool! Most people like it for a day visit but not much longer than that. Suits me personally though as the location for sailing. Have made some good Gibraltarian friends and the lifestyle suits.
Ah, there is the Levanter cloud that forms routinely in an easterly wind. From verb to rise. Warm moist air gets lifted by the rock and condenses as cloud. Quite spectacular sometimes. Eerie being up the top and watching the cloud forming and whooshing up at an amazing rate
They can both be a bit lively on occasion, but we are happy in Marina Bay....or Ocean Village as it prefers. Nostrodamus (and others on here) have wintered over in La Linea and seemed OK with that. I prefer Gib though but I do use the marina over there from time to time.
Snag here at the moment is that the marina is being prepared for a large floating hotel and is a bit of a building site!
Do look us up when you get here, know the place well!
There are loads of liveaboards in Marina Bay, Gibraltar, just 10 minutes walk from the airport. Visitors aren't encouraged though.
