I have a grey Yamaha and to be honest it looks very dull and uninspiring. Much prefer the white, looks modern and really good on some of the tenders I've seen especially the white/cream Avon ribs. Sort of takes away the 'big lump of metal' and blends in better if you know what I mean.
Yep, I'm also of the same mind. I have a grey Yam 8 hp 2-stroke on and on my little white rib, the white cowl would blend pretty well. Maybe it a 'Snazi' thing.
In this case though, the Yam 6 is good choice and I doubt if you'll need the external tank at all; even a 12 litre one is quite space consuming in a 240 dinghy.
