Any Torquay Marina residents..

What do you want to know , well fuel is available in Torquay, the toilets are temporary as the others are being refurbished, car parking is underground, secured 15m from gangway. A mate had is covers flapping and the st aff rang him advised him they really need taking off and they did that for him .They are slowly renewing some finger berths . Now there are some good eateries near by and a great pub called Hole in the wall.

If you don't get any joy , or don't fancy, Torquay, but do want to be in Torbay, we've been at Brixham for 3 years now so can pm with everything about there if required.
Not "Torquay" specific but we love being in Torbay , after 6 years in Lymington. Nothing wrong with LYH, we loved it there, but the area/places available from our current marina are just fantastic, it's a real holiday every time we go there. The whole area is just lovely.

Many thanks. It sounds like the staff are good and they are improving things? What is security like? Is there a bit of community feel?

Security is good marina staff office is at the top of the ramp , entrance to jetties ,car park and toilets with card. I take it you know it is uses at all states of tide . The town centre is like Southampton , a shit hole , but as Andrew says the front is like a holiday all year round. Also the beach is 100 m from the marina if kids want a beach day. The marina can cope with boats up to 70 FT at a guess. There is electric car charging . No decent chandlers in Torquay but a great one about 5 miles away. Now for you to gain entry to the happy berths you need to answer 3 questions ,
1 do you have a stocked fun box
2 do you have a stocked fun box
3 do you have a stocked fun box.

I have berthed in Torquay since 2010, but as I am now selling the boat (which is now with the dealer in Lymington) I am not renewing. I think the fees are more than Brixham, but as it is only 15 minutes drive from my home to Torquay convenience wins.

I have found the staff helpful and friendly, and they have called me with any concerns. The parking is good, but the pass costs extra. I have not had any security issues.

Thanks to you all for responding. Very helpful indeed. In answer to the three most important questions, yes, yes and yes. Recently one of our neighbours suggested that we ought to move some of the booze to cure a list caused by imbalanced fuel tanks!

Have spent time berthed there on several occasion, also at Brixham which I prefer as the better location and in that area would be my first choice, shame there’s no space, Great location for cruising and plenty of places to visit without going too far although Torquay itself is not as good as I remember it 30 years ago when I first boated from there.
