Any decent sized yacht cannot precede beyond Tower Bridge due to height but it is possible to get some quite large motor boats up to Teddington and beyond.
A number of naysayers have grumbled on here in the past about the industrial wastelands from the estuary to the Barrier but what lies between that and maybe the MI5 building is worth the effort at the helm of your own boat.
Dont fancy / unable to do the pool " just jump on one of the Clippers , around £15.00 for an all day pass, most have bar as well.
They run from Greenwich to the Houses of Parliament and if you ever want to find out what its like to do 25 + knots in boat.
