Hi

I'm just trying to have a chat with a port solent berth holder if you don't mind sending me a PM as we are thinking about taking up an annual berth there

cheers

Nick,

I'm not there but in case you weren't going to ask already, in your position I'd be curious about boatyard / hoist support, and any more evil plans re filling in & building houses !

thanks guys - i have more in mind a berthholder "recommending" us as they get £500 and we get a similar amount off the first year's feees according to their advertising :)

money driven post, sorry !

Just seen your insurance post -- you guys do seem to have had a run of rotten luck.

FWIW I'd be more than happy to introduce you and you can then toss "my" £500 into the coffers to help your fellow club members who suffered damage during the recent storm.

That is a very nice offer BUT Premier are quite canny - the last I read was that the £500 would come off YOUR NEXT TWELVE month Contract. Not cash and not even off lift outs or fuel. Might have changed though so worth checking.

sneaky bunch. anyway we have tried. and succeeded. not sure what the deal works out at but it's irelephant as we are going there anyway

Hi Dom

just seen this post

you are very kind and thank you very much for your kind offer! Sadly I had already taken up a previous offer so we have already been recommended.

but thanks again as that is a lovely idea

cheers

Suggest you visit by car when the M27 has some surface water and a light northerly wind is carrying the mortorway traffic noise onto the marina. Port Solent would not be my choice again, I have far too many memories of the extra 30 minutes of cold grey weather motoring once past the grey funnel shipping line of Portsmouth.

It's a funny thing, when something like this happens some people immediately get on with it whilst others hesitate. A small helping hand and they too manage to somehow summon the energy to get on with it! I guess it's kind of nice when the yachting community can in some small way succeed in recreating what has got to be one of the best aspects of village life.

Anyhow hope everything works out well for you all and that all boats manage to catch the fine weather, which reputedly is just around the corner ....still!!!
