What are you doing this weekend says CPD?

Not a lot says I...

Next thing you know I'm sat in a pub with him in Newcastle, with tickets to the Newcastle-Arsenal game, and checking what time the last metro train runs....

I've got a feeling it's going to get messy!

colour balancing and audio mixing sailing films

should be finished by the end of the weekend

I will then upload it and I am going to the boat this coming week whatever the weather does

even if I end up sitting on it on the pontoons at Wells and put in some intensive reading and coffee drinking

going slightly crazy with this wind

I've seen it happen before - newly made bachelor leading weak-willed married friend astray.

It's all going to end in tears, I tell you

In the mean time, enjoy the WE :D:cool:

well the weekend is now half gone, to all intents and purposes.

My plans were to go down to the boat today, hook up a battery and test the electrics, check out the gas system in preparation for fitting a new cooker and bring the tender home on the roofrack.

The battery hook up went well enough, everything working bar one of the cabin lights (prob a duff tube) and the nav lights - I suspect that's a faulty switch

Despite the demands from the boss that she absolutely must have a grill, I'm condeming the gas system and we're going to go with a spirit stove e.g. Origo. Saves me the toruble of trying to sort out a safe gas locker (there's no obvious solution to that problem), replace the dodgy pipework and also saves the cost of a bilge gas detector. simples

As for bringing the dinghy home on the car roof ... forget it! It was hard enough steering in a straight line as it was!

Tomorrow I sort out the insurance paperwork and prepare yet another lot of submissions to the bl**dy taxman as part of my ongoing efforts to extract the thousands of pounds they owe me 'cos they've been getting my tax code wrong for over three years now.

Oh and then there's the little matter of three rugby matches to watch. I'll be surprised if either of todays matches (both recorded) will be as exciting and tense as last nights game but you never know!

Pleasant day being thrown around with gusts of 38kts over the deck while we were sorting out the interior for the winter refit.
Managed to get half way through sorting out the spares and tools for WD40 application and D3B pops his head in and takes us for a beer.

When we got back from the pub, managed to finish spares and tools and fit one of the new IKEA overhead LED lights units - delighted with that, and only a tenner a pop inc bulb.

Just finished a venison pie with fantastic quality savoy cabbage, now settling down to Gone with the Wind and a bouteille de Sarf African Pinotage with 'er indoors. Lush.

Breakfast of Kippers and poached egg awaits in the morning, then back to the boat.

Measure the engine position for replacing the engine mounts, and to fit the other 3 IKEA light units. Possibly fit engine bay lighting at last.

May well finish solvol autosol on Yamaha exhaust downpipes tomorrow evening, which will be grand.

Wana know the results :D

Order order

.... And the order so far has been an ugly game if you support Arsenal, and an evening which has real potential for messiness. Table for 10 booked at the Chinese, now sat at bar which allows children, watching the newcastle Saturday nightlife passing by. Marvellous :D :D :D

Spent the last two days playing at Lighting Tech for a Contemporary dance show at one of the local Village Colleges.
They have a brand new lighting rig in their performance space.
A great piece of kit and very easy to use.
Good news when I had to wing it though a few pieces due to people not turning up in time for their rehearsal.
The show went well and I got a round of applause at the end which was nice.

Anyway, sitting back with a cool cyder now and deciding whether to pop down to the boat tomorrow.
Looks a bit windy but there are a few things I want to sort out.

Another fantastic weekend ..........

I must be blessed. After last weekend, one had to wonder if it could get any better. This weekend was superb. Out with old rugby coach mate for beers Friday pm, over to Twickenham for rugby Saturday then to Richmond theatre to catch up with old mates putting on "Guys and Dolls". Pub for more catch up then evening performance which was just stunning. Mates house afterwards then Sunday morning his son's football match then lunch before .......... well, more beers which meant I stayed over last night too. Early nighjt tonight, well tomorrow actually as out again tonight ...... possibly getting too old for all this ...... I need some kip :D.
