That's, erm, Virgin.net. Had real problems with e-mail over the last few days and now I can't connect to the 'net either. Having to pay by the minute with another ISP /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Service page says no problems though /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Anyone else having problems?

Don't use virgin.net, but depends on the error message. If it is page not displayed, could be a setting on browser changed, if error in username or password could be dial-up connection corrupted and needs deleted and then re-create new connection

I used Virgin net for several years and there's no doubt the service has deteriorated.
Have moved on. Send me a PM and I'll recommend who to!
David.

we had problems yesterday, you should be able to access through the virgin home page though as long as you have a password set up. they were apologising yesterday for problems, said they were in hand!!!!

Fenland Virgin has been dead for 3 days but seems to have revived a little although email is still temperamental.

The original problem was email related but then usernames and passwords played up. Virgin's freephone number (0800 052 4329) had a recorded message "our engineers are aware of the problem.

Pity it took them 3 days to sort it.

I've been with Virgin for years and never had a problem until their broadband fiasco. As has been said, the service has deteriorated since they sold out to NTL and each new problem now takes days to unravel rather than hours.

I'm seriously thinking of jumping ship, but to which one? We moved house and lost broadband (I know I should have checked before agreeing to move) Broadband won't be available in our village for some time yet so I'm stuck with a monthly 24/7 dial up. Our neighbours use AOL and Wanadoo but aren't overly impressed.

I'd be grateful for any recommendations before I look at ispreview.co.uk

Same here. Think I've just solved the problem (unless it's coincidence) - created a new Internet connection and all seems well again.

I ditched NTL (cos they were sh!te) and moved to Virgin. Seems like the buggers are after me /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Me too. Have heard good things about clara.net so they might be my first port of call but will have a look on net4nowt.co.uk first.

Just changed from Virgin, which was becoming next to useless, to Wanadoo. Sadly we're still on dial-up down here in deepest Zummerzet. Seems ok so far and gets me connected every time - bit quicker too. Virgin started taking four or five goes to connect and email died totally last week.
Cheers, D

I'd pipe up (sorry, didn't really aim to make a cheap pun) for www.eclipse.co.uk 15 squid per month for 1K for 1Gb traffic - that's a hell of a lot, I have a 'problem' to use it and that included XP SP2 download! £1.75 per gig if you go over.

Once in you can mix and match to your actual needs. High speed service, mail filtered for virus' and spam.

Good value and nice peeps in Devon.

Usual disclaimers.
