£1689 for a minimum of 8 metres in that god forsaken hole ?
That's over 4 times as much as I pay for a good sheltered mooring in the rather lovely Chichester Harbour 5 minutes row from 2 nice old pubs, a wildlife sanctuary, long coast path & tons of history, hoist in & out, winter storage, secure tender pen, membership and a good clubhouse with cheap beer and nice people...
No wonder there's the ' Birminghan Navy ' of people who drive South !
In just 486 years the boat-with-no-name should be able to just float off the hard.True, but they are more exercised by todays report on global warming and are too busy saving the planet and lining their pockets just now.
Of course it's different. "after another boat has been launched" the crane will pack up and go home. At that point it's too late to pop-up and suggest they do yours as well. These things need arranging beforehand.Really? I don't see much difference between "until something else had been launched" and "the launch of another large boat" ... but my apologies if it was misleading.

I'm sure that I read in between posts 10,000 and 20,000 on the Voldemart thread that a ground survey was only relevant at a specific nano-second point in time, not ongoing. Something along the lines of a car MOT, a car may pass but as it drives away it wouldn't pass again if say a lightbulb blew. But that was precisely my point. If the hypothetical owner of a boat, Boat A, wanted to escape paying for a ground survey and insurance, he or she might decide to hide away until another boat, Boat B had been launched, in the hope that insurance and survey would by then be in place and all that would be needed would be the lift. This, of course, would depend on a return visit by the crane costing less than half the total cost of the first launch.
This is pure speculation on my part, you understand, and should not be taken to refer to any real boats or persons.

Are you telling me that the days of "hey mate while you are here dropping in that boat, if I drop you £500 can you drop mine in while you are here" are gone?

Now, if we are talking about non-real boats then any scenario will be possible.
I'm fairly sure she drove past me on the A24 at lunchtime today, brown MR2, with the roof down...
That's Elvis.
Or "Ellie", for short.
Not nice! Who knows what she is doing. Does it matter?
